Hey, all! My name is Merris and I am a transgender man who paints in watercolor and ink. I occasionally dabble in oils, too. I am inspired by old maps, alchemical illustrations, and classical works.
I use my art to work through my depression and anxiety. Be sure to check out my patreon!
Merris uses he/him pronouns, and I doubt that being transgender is what is making him depressed since he is open about it and can live as himself, but, and I know that you aren't trying to be rude, but asking someone why they're depressed is pretty lame and invasive. It's not your business, just like you wouldn't ask someone with cancer why they have cancer. It isn't always clear and it's not something that happens for a reason. It's a disease. Trans people have higher rates of depression than ordinary people because we face discrimination and hatred from strangers and often our own families. Hope this helped you understand. Not trying to pick a fight, just trying to educate so that everyone can live in a more tolerant world.
