I Accidentally Burned A Naked Model With My Magic Wand (10 Photos)
What happens when someone places a burning black light against your bare skin? Well, if you’re model Claire Randle, you shrug it off and keep shooting.
To create the Magic Wand photo series I first removed the shade from two household lamps and swapped the standard bulbs out for red, yellow, green, blue and black ones. Using a long exposure in total darkness I had my assistant Caroline swoosh one wand across the frame while Claire and I stood perfectly still. We went back and forth between wands, cooling bulbs, swapping lights and experimenting with various poses, exposures and color combinations.
After about three hours of shooting, Caroline accidentally swooshed the wand against Claire’s arm and – tshhhhhhhhhhh – Claire got a temporary tattoo. And just to show what a good sport she is, Claire later sent me this: “That was fun!! Thanks for a great shoot. The burn was worth it. :)”
