A collective of 30 artists from around the world is releasing a book called #MakeArtGreatAgain (MAGA Book). The MAGA Book is a selection of artworks of the most significant tweets by Donald Trump, illustrated by different artists in various techniques and styles. The diversity of the book gives an insight into how cultures around the world look at Trump’s tweets.
The book is translated into different languages and will be released in August. All net profits will be donated to the climate change foundations 350.org and Greenpeace. To generate funds for the print production, the collective set up a kickstarter campaign.
“The idea of the project is to help mother nature. We think that Trump gives us the ammo to fight climate change with his own weapons. And we also want to give these great artists a platform to showcase their talent. Last but not least, we want to make Trump’s statements accessible to a wider audience – people who are not on Twitter, or don’t speak English. The MAGA Book is a great art collection. Through our kickstarter campaign we hope to find enough supporters to produce many books, so that we can actively help the fight against climate change. Buyers of the MAGA Book win twice: They get a beautiful piece of art, and they’re directly helping climate change foundations. So please support us on our kickstarter campaign!” says the collective.
The artists in the MAGA Book have been working together for the last five months and come from all over the world: Argentina, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, Russia, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, USA, Venezuela and many more countries. The goal: Help fight climate change and make the readers laugh, reflect and think. The group includes award-winning illustrators Guy McKinley, Luciana Guerra, Wulang Sunu, Eliane Mancera and many more.
