Always liked the giant scrabble board advertised at Restoration Hardware, but didn’t like the $1500.00 price tag. So we decided to attempt to make one….

First We started with some particle board and delicately joined two together with adhesive and wood framing so the board was big enough.

Next We painted the board with multiple coats of magnetic paint so that the magnetic tiles would stick. And then on the right side of the board We used chalkboard paint for scoring the game.

After the magnet and chalkboard paint We painted the scrabble board tan and then stated to grid the board with paint pens. We also added a think border moulding and painted that white.

Soon after we started to paint the multiple letter/word score tiles their respective colors. Then she got very creative with her cameo machine and doled out all the corresponding lettering.

And voila the finished scrabble board!!! It may not be as symmetrical and perfect as the $1500.00 you can buy at Restoration Hardware but it works! And, all said and done it cost about $425 in materials.
