I'm picturing the villain sitting in his jacuzzi, while his henchmen and women bring him his champagne, and cigars. Then, his fluffy white cat floats by wearing a life vest.

His buildings also have a tendency to leak and have other issues. They're great design aesthetically but they rarely function well as houses.

It can be a famous and well-respected design and still be weird. Weird isn't necessarily bad.

I went there many, many moons ago. It was gorgeous and calming.

I love this house, always have! It's gorgeous and, yes, very famous. But, in terms of typical and atypical, I would still call it "weird". What percentage of US homes do you think are built, literally, over a waterfall? Weird doesn't necessarily mean bad (though there are certainly some practical trade-offs to where and how it's built).

You're looking at the word "weird" all wrong. Weird can also mean odd, peculiar, different. It doesn't have to be a negative thing. It can be implied as something fascinating.

Actually I have toured it, in a 200 level design course. It is weird, and uncomfortable and honestly I don't like most of his designs, they are all more or less art pieces masquerading as buildings

I did a report for my art class in middle school on this specific house and architect!

Just because it's famous, an influential piece, or amazing, doesn't make it not weird. As far as houses go, it is weird. Gorgeous, but weird. Weird does not equal bad.

Hodmi, you might want to look up the definition of weird and educate yourself. Weird doesn't mean bad or distasteful. Most artists including Wright, strive to be anything but normal.

Just because it's famous doesn't change anything. It's an unusual design which is OK but it has a river running though it, that makes it pretty weird as houses go
