Easter usually sticks to a familiar script—chocolate, pastel colors, polite little traditions that don’t ask too many questions. But in the hands of cartoonist Mark Parisi, that neat version of the holiday starts to unravel pretty quickly.
Through his long-running Off The Mark comics, Parisi takes those same familiar symbols and pushes them just far enough to reveal something stranger underneath. Eggs aren’t just decorations here; they think, react, and occasionally spiral. Bunnies aren’t entirely trustworthy. And the whole holiday starts to feel less like a tradition and more like a situation slightly out of control.
