I'm sure I'm not the only person in the US who doesn't think it's the best place to live right now, with how bad COVID is in some places, high medical costs, etc. So, to help us out, what do you like about the US? What is there in the US that you're jealous of?

The beautiful and almost untouched nature that you have. Of course you have very busy areas but you also have huge parks and natural areas. Europe has been populated by many villages and cities for so long that in the west/south we barely have proper nature. Here where I live there are nice fields and some small forests but they are all young and now as impressive.

Also the price of housing in some areas. Of course places like NY are super expensive but in other areas you can buy extremely cheap houses compared to Europe. In my city the minimum salary (the one for most young people) is 900 euros but the average rent is between 600 and 900 a month. Most of us won’t ever own a house

Wow, I never realized how bad housing costs were. I thought it was bad in the US, but wow!

There is actually more going going on then is being portrayed. I’m a public health nurse and I’m telling you that people want to get vaccinated and want this to end. It’s just always the case that the ignorant people speak the loudest and craziness. People with the correct information are not screaming usually because the other people won’t understand and they don’t want to. People are mostly good, this world is good.

If you want people to believe this ridiculousness, make up your freaking minds.

We’re diverse, and we discuss our racism. The United States is a country that seriously struggles with racism, I can acknowledge that. But we’re also incredibly diverse, more so than many countries in the world. We have more Spanish speakers even than Spain. And as many racists as we have here in the States, as many problems as we have, at the end of the day, I find that most Americans are lot more politically correct than foreigners from less diverse countries.

USA is about 18 times bigger than Spain. It is not really a big achievement to have more spanish speakers. Specially seeing that they are one of the more empoveroshed and discriminated groups in the country.

My favourite thing about the US is the diversity of the indigenous people.

Freedom of Religion. Freedom of Speech (which apparently can be abused on social media by idiots). The fact that, while there are a bunch of jerks who yell the loudest and get noticed, there are also some very sweet people who just don't get noticed. I have a lot of friends in the US who are very nice and awesome. None of us have social media (BP is the closest thing for me) so we could all just be invisible but there are nice, law-abiding citizens. And #randomactsofkindness.

I would argue that US has very little freedom of religion. The majority of politicians are christian and conservative and it shows in the laws there. Like with the abortion laws. Or in how arabian/muslim citizens or travellers are treated
