Hey Panda's, I'd like you to share your journey (god I hate that word) with BPD. How did you get diagnosed, how long ago, how has it affected your life, did getting a diagnosis help or hinder & are you open about it or keep it hidden?

I don't have bpd but my wife does. It is true that it's like walking on eggshells. At least before she found the right meds. I had to read a lot Abt it and practice patience.

Her cycles would always catch me off guard before I saw what it was. The whole I love you but hate you routine is exhausting. So I would remind myself that she is dealing with a mental Illness and practice patience.

It helped both of us that we work a separate 12 step type of program. It taught us that her behavior although hurtful and needing to change wasn't fully her fault. And practice patience.

Now the episodes are few and far apart. She is at the point where she can see that she was wrong shortly after and we move on. Oh and practice patience.

It can be the easiest thing in the world, total adoration, great sex, pure affection, it's exhilarating and addictive. Over time these moments become fewer and far between and the walking on eggshells thing is constant. Don't be dumb. If it's too good to be true, question it. If you need it as bad as I do even with knowledge, question your own integrity and sense of self.
