We’ve all had cringey moments. All of them we can look back on and go “ugggh!” I have a lot as well, so I bet a bunch of other people do too.

When I was younger, I thought I was different characters, and I would act like them, I accidentally wrote the name of a character on a worksheet I was doing in class and the teacher was so confused about it and I had to explain that I’m being silly. I sort of outgrew it, but I still have the tendency to act like a character that I connect with. I actually based my chosen name on a character from Heartstopper named Charlie Spring.

I have this- I take on the behavior and tone/syntax of characters from media I consume. I had to stop watching schitts creek because I said rude things to my family. Same with when I watched lab rats and jessie- Disney channel kids are really annoying. When I read flowers for Algernon I couldn't think coherently, it was weird. If I write something for school I have to make sure I wasn't reading fanfiction right before or it's bad. I'm making this sound more extreme than it is but it's significant. I'm pretty sure it's an autistic trait, or how I manifest masking/mirroring

I was 21 or 22 & at a club in line to buy a drink. This guy in front of me turns around, looks at me, & says ‘Wellllll, hello.’ And I’m just standing there to order my drink so I just kinda half-smiled when he leans in (way too) close & says in my ear ‘I have to tell you, I’ve always been attracted to that ‘Cherubic Look’ of yours…’
