Busting my head open and being escorted by a bunch of worried teachers to the front office
So, it happened today. In France.
I had asked my neighbor if his son could mow my lawn as I have a broken rib and can't do much. I'd pay. The wife/mother told me they'd do it for free, but I insisted that I pay.
His son showed up 1st, to look at my garden to know what needed to be done. A few minutes later, he and his father arrived with the lawnmower and a trimmer, but the son is doing all the work. His father-my neighbor - - is trying to hold my hand and touch my a*s, while telling me it must be difficult for me to be without a husband.
French is not my 1st language and I'm trying to be polite with this guy because his family has been of great help to me as a foreigner, but I'm not really comfortable with his touching me. Then he wants to hug me and tries to kiss me on the lips, even though I keep turning my cheek for the French 'bisous'. He eventually walks away, but I'm all freaked out by this because 1, he's married, 2, he's my neighbor that I've known for 7 years, and I'm not into interested, 3--wtf? When did asking for lawn to get mowed because I'm incapable turn into a sexual come on?
I'm not sure if I should feel flattered or assaulted.
Op here, I felt assaulted, but how do i complain to authorities when this family has been so helpful to me? And I might need their help in the future?
