THE SICKNESS.
The sea breeze in my hair was the best feeling ever. me, Melanie and Kygo were at the beach for a walk and it was getting late I was about to suggest going home when Melanie said “Vera, I’m getting kind of tired… can we go home now?” I had to hesitate before I had answered because I hadn’t eaten yet and I was getting very hungry. “Sure Mel” I replied after a minute. “can we go get food first cause I’m starving, bro.” Kygo whined. “yeah ok we will stop at the corner store on the way home to get a few pies or something.” I replied. The other two replied with a nod and we set off towards the corner store. The Shop keeper greeted us with the usual nod and wave. We didn’t want to waste any time in the store because we wanted to get home before it was TOO dark, it was dusk at the moment. We got the pies, paid the cashier and left the store. we trudged home munching on our pies we got home and we jumped into bed, and I fell asleep within the 3 minutes of me resting my eyes. I think I remember Melanie Calling my name but I don’t remember I was in a sleepy haze. I woke up in a few hours because I was freezing cold, I got out of bed and got trackpants and a jumper on, I walked out to the closet in the hall to get another blanket when there I saw right there in front of me Melanie was standing there staring, though she wasn’t staring because her eyes were closed! I was confused and scared for a good minute when I remembered that she sleep-walks. I softly woke her up with a gentle shove on the shoulder. She woke up and apologised for scaring me. After that little scare we both went out to the kitchen and got a glass of water, I glanced out of the window and immediately noticed that there was a black figure standing right outside my window staring at me with eyes so deep they felt as if they were piercing through my soul. I was scared and shaky, I turned the backyard lights on and the figure Disappeared I had no idea where it had gone I walked outside with Melanie clutching my arm. We stepped out and looked around for a second, a moment later the streetlights began to dullen and turn off Mel and I were scared.
“OW” I exclaimed as a mosquito Bit my arm I slapped at it but I missed it. I thought I was dreaming so I went back inside and grabbed 3 extra blankets for us. “HEY!” Melanie Whispered furiously! “What?!” I asked annoyed “I think a mosquito bit me!”
“oh, ok keep it down Mel.” I murmur “yeah sorry Vera” We tip-toed to the bedroom. Kygo was still fast asleep so I chose not to bother him, I just threw the blanket onto him and gave Mel her blanket, jumped in bed, after about 15 minutes of laying there in bed trying to sleep I couldn’t so I went to the living room and made myself a cup of tea. I sat down and started to watch Netflix. I don’t remember falling asleep or going into my bed but in the morning, I was in my bed tired and sore. I was thinking about last night and about how the black figure was standing there staring I was thinking about what it was… when, I heard Melanie’s shrill shriek. “AAAAAAAAAH” I gasped and got up as fast as I could and raced out into the living room where it sounded like the shriek came from. I couldn’t see melanie in the living room so I went outside and surely she was there on the ground, the palest I have ever seen her, I yelled out for Kygo and in two short seconds he was by my side “what happened to her?!” Kygo asked “I-I- I don’t know I heard her scream so I came out to see what was wrong but she was just laying there on the ground the most pale I had seen her…” I stuttered That’s when I noticed kygo was looking at me strangely “uh… why are you looking at me like that!?” I asked confused. “uh… You are really pale Vera… Are you ok? You feeling ok?” kygo responded concerned. “um no I am fine I have no idea why I would be pale…” We picked up Melanie and put her inside on the couch.
