Wendi Lucas shared a smiling courtside photo with her husband in February this year, along with a playful caption that quickly sparked wild online speculation.
As strangers flooded her comments with accusations and invasive questions, Lucas herself stepped in to set the record straight, only for the conversation to pivot toward harsh comments about her appearance.

But when the attorney shared a photo from their courtside seats with the caption, “My boss is cooler than your boss. Best seats ever,” the photo became the subject of an online misunderstanding.
Some viewers interpreted the caption to mean the man beside her was her boss.
Others took the speculation further, questioning whether she was sharing a photo of an inappropriate workplace relationship.

Some commenters compared the situation to the viral Coldplay concert moment in July last year, when Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the company’s HR chief Kristin Cabot were caught embracing on the stadium’s big screen.
One person sarcastically reacted to Wendi’s photo, “That doesn’t look like a coldplay concert so all is well… I assume?!”
Another added, “Girlllll I was about to say have we learned NOTHING from Coldplay, and you’re right, your boss is in fact cooler than mine.”
Another comment read, “We might have a coldplay HR situation on our hands.”
As wild rumors swirled, Lucas herself clarified that the man in the picture was her husband.
She wrote, “OMG THIS IS MY HUSBAND. My boss gave us the seats. I’m an attorney and this is my husband.”
Discussion surrounding the attorney’s physique took over as she went viral
While the initial wave of outrage was accusing the attorney of being unfaithful to her husband with her boss, something completely different ended up dominating the conversation: her chest.
Curious viewers began asking whether the attorney had undergone plastic surgery.
Rather than dismissing the questions or leaving people guessing, Wendi responded with a detailed explanation of her cosmetic procedures.
“I had a mommy makeover…” she wrote. “Tummy tuck with muscle repair, lipo 360, & implants… My Botox has completely worn off rn, but yes I do that too. Very open about any work done.”
She has openly discussed the cosmetic procedures she underwent after having three children.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Lucas explained that the decision was years in the making.
Even before becoming a mother, she had struggled with stubborn fat around her waist and lower abdomen.
After nursing three children, she also wanted to restore volume to her breasts.
She told the outlet, “I always knew I eventually wanted a tummy tuck when I was finished having babies.”
Lucas underwent her transformation after a difficult third pregnancy and years of juggling motherhood with law school
Wendi’s decision to undergo surgery came at a particularly significant point in her life.
During her third pregnancy, she developed gestational diabetes while simultaneously completing law school and working full-time.
She eventually graduated in December 2024, knowing that she and her husband had finished growing their family.
Before becoming an attorney, Lucas spent more than a decade working in personal injury law, beginning her career as a paralegal in 2014.
She continued building her legal experience while pursuing her education and raising her three children.
At Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School, she took on several responsibilities beyond her coursework, serving as a student representative, peer mentor, and Advocacy Board member.
With the demanding early years of her legal career approaching, she decided it was the right time to pursue the procedures she had been considering.

“I knew we were done having children after her, so when I finished law school in December 2024, the timing worked out to have surgery before jumping into an associate attorney role,” Lucas explained.
She was already familiar with Marietta Plastic Surgery, having undergone a rhinoplasty there in 2013.
After consulting with Dr. Atanu Biswas, she decided to proceed with her mommy makeover.
“Plastic surgery isn’t something to hide or feel shame over,” Lucas said
Lucas wanted a flatter stomach, a more defined waist, and breasts that looked natural, rather than an unattainable version of perfection.
According to the attorney, her recovery went smoothly, and she was delighted with the results.
“The confidence this has given me has bled into every aspect of my life. I carry myself taller and feel like the best version of myself,” she shared.
But the unexpected attention around her basketball photo also gave her a chance to discuss something she believes is often overlooked in conversations about cosmetic transformations.
When strangers began asking about her transformation, she decided that openly discussing it would be more useful than pretending her appearance was entirely the result of genetics, diet, or exercise.
“The comments started going, and when I saw people speculating as to what work I’d had done, I just owned it,” she told the publication.
“My body looks unnatural to have birthed three children, and I never want someone to look at me and assume I somehow got lucky or worked hard to look like this, and then feel bad about themselves,” she explained.
Lucas argued that women shouldn’t feel pressured to conceal their decisions about cosmetic surgery or apologize for choosing procedures that help them feel more confident.
“So I’m blunt about work done, so there’s no disillusion. Plastic surgery isn’t something to hide or feel shame over.”
