I’m beginning to near my 20s and curious about what I should NOT do.

Joining the Naval Reserves. It actually cost me money when I had to take time off of work to do my weekend drills... Ironically, I would join the active Army in my 30's and found it to be one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. Go figure.
Why did you switch branches? While I was in the air force I met a lot of former army crossovers to air force. Mostly pilots. Guess they had the need for speed.
When the Iraq war started (or resumed depending on who you talk to), I decided to rejoin the military. I called a Navy recruiter and they said that the gap between the time I got out and that time was too long. I called the Air Force and they said I was too old. The Army took me in with open arms...

I know, right? Well, if I were just a fresh recruit they might have taken me, but since I was prior service they said that 34 was too old (The cutoff for the Army was 35)
