My mom and dad are unsure about letting me get the vaccine. Tell me how it went for you and maybe it will help convince them to let me get it!

Hi, I'm a teen and an small for my age so I was worried about getting symptoms. I got the vaccine and barely felt it. The day after, my arm was a little sore but only the same as any vaccine. I was kind of tired the day after, but after a short nap, I felt normal, if not better because I was happy to have gotten it!

I barely felt the jab, I was a little tired the next day and had an early night. My arm slightly ached for a few days. More importantly, I haven’t had Covid in spite of being around people who have had it.

Your parents love you and are scared of putting something “new” in you in case it damages you, I get it. But it isn’t totally new, it’s just the next phase of vaccine building on previous methods.

Also these last couple of generations have been so lucky with many infectious diseases controlled. But I recall my grandmother (who lost a child who was 3 years old to infections that we routinely immunise for now) telling me, “whatever they have a vaccine for, get it”. She never got over that loss and there was no vaccine then.

Also, think of that stupid anti vaccine “dr” that made up all that rubbish about dangers of mmr vaccines. 18 years later some of those unvaccinated kids went off to uni, picked up measles and died or had life changing consequences from the infections.

Good luck, I hope they look for google scholar resources and reputable research instead of you tube idiots getting their payments for shock content and building a certain type of audience.

Ive had both my covid vaccines and didn’t even get a sore arm 🙂 ive always had all my vaccines since i was a baby and have never had a serious illness, im healthy and not in the high risk group but got mine early because a lot of my family are elderly and have health conditions and would be in danger if they got covid. Even if you’re not at risk yourself i think everyone who can should get the vaccine to protect elderly people and people with health problems who will die if they get covid

It's a shot like any other, you barely feel it. I got really bad shivers for a while the night after, but aside from that I had no symptoms, and nothing that lasted. Also, I haven't had covid, and I spent a lot of the time past month in hospital waiting rooms, and about 3 around the ICU.
