Absolute favourite is Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, And I love anything middle earth (J.R.R. Tolkien). I also love the Narnia series (C.S. Lewis) and Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes.

I've always had a special place in my heart for the "Chronicles of Narnia." John Connolly's books about detective Charlie Parker are excellent. Well written, enjoyable and engaging characters, real life mystery/drama with a veil of the supernatural and hidden things. The "Kushiel's Legacy" series by Jacqueline Carey is excellent. Fantasy world building, actual gods and their chosen, BDSM elements as part of the various cultures. I could probably go on and on about books I enjoy. Mmmm...books. :) [Ignore the sentence fragments, I've been typing all day and I'm tired.]

Lord of the rings will always hold a special place in my heart, like a first true friend, but one of my very favorites is the King Killer Chronicles by Patrick Rothfus. The first book is "The Name of the Wind" and the second, "Wise Man's Fear". I also love The Ravens Shadow trilogy by Anthony Ryan. Its pretty friggin amazing

Michael Vey is good, I’d recommend the Ranger’s Apprentice series if you haven’t already read it.
I really enjoy Terry Pratchett's earlier works in Discworld. His characters are relatable, and yet the books are so hilarious.
My faves are WINGS OF FIREEE ,School for good an evil, and Percy Jackson ( I cant choose one lol) I like them cuz they are Fantasy And Adventure story’s that keep u coming back for more!

The Realm of the Elderlings (Robin Hobb) and Mistborn (Brandon Sanderson).
"Finnegans Wake", James Joyce. The first few times, it was really difficult to get through, but I was determined. As I became accustomed to it, it became easier to make sense of it. Some of it is understanding what Joyce intended, but much more is being open, to allowing the text to suggest meaning, to consciously protecting my own thoughts, feelings and interpretations onto Joyce's words. I make my own sense of it.

"The Heros of Olympus", as I am a big Greek myth nerd, and I love Percy Jackson. All of Rick Riordan's books are amazing, of course, but HoO will always be my favorite.
I like anything by Rachael Johns and The Guardians Trilogy by Nora Roberts. My favourite genre is chick lit, country romance and fantasy.
The Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher. It's about "the only practicing wizard in the Chicago Yellow Pages". The opening line to one of the books ("Blood Rites") was "The building was on fire and it wasn't my fault." Just so you know, it was the fault of the purple winged monkey demons throwing incendiary poo at him. Really.
Antonia Saw The Oryx First by Maria Thomas. Maria Thomas wrote only three books, all of them set in West Africa, and her writing is utterly gorgeous.
Warriors (you can tell by my name) Serifina Series by Robert Beatty both have magic(?) But Serifina has EVERYTHING, gore, mystery, magic, cats, dogs, historical places, ect.

The Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher is my favorite!!! He manages to fit myth, magic, wizards, the fae and all sorts of other goodies into real life Chicago and make it all fit together really well. Exciting and very well written! The first book is a little slower passed but still really good they pick up the pse from there. He has a couple other series that are great as well if Urban fantasy is not your thing!!!

R.A. Salvatore's Forgotten Realm books. Buckle up buttercups because this covers a lot of stuff in the Forgotten Realms franchise and as of today he has published at least 37 books in. I think there's like 4 or 5 more. I love his writing, you get a vast verity of characters besides the main campanions to meet and love. It is Fantasy and the bulk of the books follow Drizzt Do'Urden, a drow elf and his companions on their adventures.
Be warned this gets dark. Very dark, and there are just sometimes where even the good guy gets dealt a bad hand. I love the series and have read it the majority of my life.
The Clockwork Dynasty by Daniel H. Wilson is one of my favorite books.
It has more twists and turns than a roller coaster and plenty of action scenes as well, but without losing sight of the plot. The characters are so well-written they almost feel like real people, even the ones who aren’t technically “human.” However, most of the action scenes are violent, so if that makes you uncomfortable, you can skip them.
A great lesser known book is Equal Fate by Jeska Layne, it is a fantasy book with lots of magic set in a modern (not earth) setting and has great action.
