How have others helped you when you needed it most?

My father had Alzheimer's and was in a nursing home. I stayed with him the last 30 days of his life, only leaving to eat. We did not live in the same town, so it was difficult, but it was something I wanted to do. He had a very ill elderly roommate. His daughter visited as often as she could. She knew that I spoke to him even though he was comatose. When he died, I assumed I would never see her again. Shortly after her father's funeral, she visited me to see how I was doing. Even in her grief, she thought of me. We hugged and cried for each other. I will never forget her act of kindness.

i was 12 my lil bro was 7, we was walkin to the grocery store for some things to cook dinner. we got the stuff and started heading home, we got to the second cross walk from our house and as we were crossing a car was speeding senselessly down the street, though somehow i didn't notice. as we were walking we neared the end of the crosswalk, my lil bro noticed the car and it was about to hit me. My 7 y/o brother pushed me out of the and ended up getting hit. instead of being an a** the driver did stop to help, i was to angry though i just swung on him and when i realized wat i had done i was terrified. i helped him up and apologized. he understood. he drove me and brother to the hospital and called my parents. if my brother hadnt pushed me i would've died. it was a surprise that my bro survived.
