I'm in US NC and we're guano crazy with this stuff, couldn't list them all if I tried, but here we go... We have a bigfoot, a Nessie type called Normie, Fairies who leave stone crosses behind, Appalachian Moon-eyed people (immortal, tiny snow white people with huge blue eyes that only come out at night and a statue of them was found -creepy), the Beast of Bladenboro (a 5 feet long, wild haired vampire fanged cat/dog, skull crushing, blood draining brute that takes out pets and livestock on a whim and may live in a swamp). We also have The Wampus (long skinny legs, sharp pointy ears, a large head and is a slasher and mangler particularly of dogs - this guy is really scary to people btw) and The Santer which is more panther like but still very much of the Bladenboro variety. And finally on a lighter note, we had mermaids in the Cape Fear River and on the French Broad River a siren named Lorelei who entices fishermen and if they get too close she grabs them with her serpent arms and shows them her big nasty grinning skull face and you can hear a "loud, chattering laugh ring through the wilderness, and all is still again.” Have a nice day!
Aitvaras, a mythical creature that means a Kite in English. It is connected with material fortune, and it gives people treasures.
Also Kaukas which is a mixture between a gnobe and a goblin, in my imagination.
Pennsylvania’s isn’t scary, but still interesting. It’s called a Squonk. It’s supposedly a pig-like creature with loose skin and lots of warts and blemishes. The story goes that the creature is so ashamed of its appearance, it hides and spends its time crying. One man that claims to have caught one said that it had dissolved in tears, with just a puddle left.
Florida-The Skunk Ape. Essentially the state’s version of Big Foot/Sasquatch except reddish hair.
Well, there is the Kentucky Bigfoot, some people believe that in the eastern part of the state, unusual mounds are their graves.
There is also a plethora of stories from the indigenous tribes.
Where shall I begin? We have classics like trolls and we have a horse that drowns people who accept to ride it and a naked dude whom sits at a rock in the river playing violin and luring kids into the river too drown them.
Ooo! I know one from the US! You hear about them in every state but no one’s been able to get photographic proof or evidence! They’re called Honest Politicians! 😁
We have a ton of these creatures such as the Loveland Frogman, Melon Heads, and Mothman. Definitely not as interesting as some of these other answers but that's Ohio!
The terrifying and mysterious, “Mormon”
The Wendigo. A human possessed by a spirit giving it monstrous characteristics. It's known by many names, but all of them have the same meaning: The evil spirit that devours mankind. It is a large creature, as tall as a tree, with a lipless mouth and jagged teeth. Its breath is a strange hiss, its footprints full of blood, and it ate any man, woman, or child who ventured into its territory. And those are the lucky ones. Sometimes, the Wendigo chose to possess a person instead, and then the luckless individual became a Wendigo himself, hunting down those he had once loved and feasting upon their flesh.
Ooh, where to start.. well theres the infamous drop-bear, the Bunyip, the yowie, the Nargun, Otway's panther, the Mooney Mooney Monster, Yara-ma-yha-who, etc etc. Australia isn't all spiders and crocodiles, y'know.
The billdad! Apparently looks like a wallaby. According to legend, a logger made stew out of it and, immediately after eating, committed suicide.
In Canada there’s the Ogopogo, a lake creature inhabiting Okanagan lake in B.C
