No super explanation is necessary. Just 5 simple things we sometimes take for granted or don’t think much about until it’s bad.

1. I have caterpillars eating my plant and making cocoons.
2. I helped my wife cook dinner and didn’t cut myself or burn myself. (And I didn’t mess up the food either.)
3. I have a house. With A/C
4. Pete (the good boy) pooped today outside.
5. I got to watch Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.

3. I got a 91% on my math test
4. That I got breakfast
5. That my brother wasn't mean this morning
1) I woke up this morning

4) That I have people who love and care about me
5) That I haven’t given into my depression
1)I live in the Columbia Gorge 2) my service dog is awesome(even if he is a popcorn hog) 3) my rosebush, Stella, looks amazing 4) I have my truck back 5) I have so much room to garden and do projects!!

My husband cooks almost every meal (and he is awesome in other ways too).
I work from home. A good thing that came from Covid.
I have no pain like a lot of people do when they get my age.
I have no drama in my life.
I left a red state and now live in one of the most liberal cities in the country. I haven't seen a confederate flag in years.
1. Wonderful health insurance (US of course)

5. Not living paycheck to paycheck, when a disaster happens we can handle it (just had hubby’s work trailer stolen, replaced it, sucked a lot but didn’t impact our daily lives)
Maybe I shouldn’t have numbered them because these are these are not in order.
1. My monthly social security check.
2. My low-income senior apartment with big windows and a sweet view of a park.
3. The safe, supportive community we have here in the small town I've lived in most of my life.
4. My four children and 15 grandchildren are all pretty much happy and healthy.
5. The internet, which keeps an old-ish partly disabled girl connected and entertained.

My #1 is I'm grateful for having grown up when I did bc we never even thought about politics, especially in school. I'm grateful for the freedoms that I enjoyed growing up, that I believe will never happen again for anyone in the U.S.
