My husband and I didn’t want the fuss or expense of a big wedding so we decided to secretly elope. Our pastor knew and accidentally told the entire church (including extended family)about our elopement 3 hours before we got married. The news made it though town and across the country in record time. I think everyone knew within half an hour of church ending. We were pretty angry at the time but we did get the last laugh a few years later. After the incident we joked with the pastor he wasn’t going to hear any more big news until after the fact. That came true a few years later when we got our first foster child placement 3 months before we even completed the licensing process because we knew the child. We went from a childless couple to parents of a toddler with less than 3 hours notice. We told him a day or two later (once the dust settled). Doesn’t get much more poetic than that.
One of the kids that my mom was looking after ran headfirst into one of the exhibits at the aviation and space museum in Ottawa Ont. Canada, and I was laughing internally at what I just witnessed, at least but my mom asked him if he was okay and he was, but me and his sibling were laughing so hard and we couldn’t stop laughing at what we had witnessed. A few years later I still think it’s hilarious and every time I think of it, I just laugh my head off. Oh, that was one day I will never forget! And prior to going to the aviation and space museum in Ottawa we went to the recently renovated and reopened Sci-Tech museum, and I was happy about that they kept the crazy kitchen, which is my favourite thing to do there. And they kept the trains because they are a popular thing to see, and they put a new thing in the museum, a quiet cube and I thought it was oddly relaxing.
At how cringy i used to be, for a long time i didnt speak and only did animal sounds, walked on all fours and was overly loud. Now i just kinda go =l
