This is a horrifying nightmare summoner.

Had one. If the room was cold enough, it wouldn't finish clapping, so, if the room warned up significantly, it would sometimes clap at unexpected times. This occurred when I was a kid, at night, when the heat kicked on. Scared the living s**t out of me! From then on, he stayed in my mom's closet. I wouldn't be in the same room with it!
