Can you tell me about some bad or awkward experiences you've had while flying because of other people?

Coming home from a cruise. We got off the ship in Dover, UK. There was a strike in France on the other side of the Chunnel, that had traffic completely stopped. So traffic was backed up on the A2.That meant the busses couldn't get to us to take us to Heathrow on time. Ended missing our flight home to DFW. A gate agent for the airline got us on the last two seats out of Manchester airport the next day. So we took the tube to the London National rail center near Trafalgar square with enough luggage for two people on a 2 week cruise. Then a train to Manchester, and another train to Manchester Airport. Stayed the night in a hotel in Manchester airport. Flew to Orlando Fl the next day in a plane filled with small children going to see Mickey Mouse. That plane was delayed. Missed our connecting flight (again).Ended up on a later connecting hop to Atlanta. That plane pushed back from the gate, and then returned to the gate. Sat on the plane with nothing to eat or drink for 2.5 hours, while they fixed the plane for a 1 hour flight to Atlanta. Got to Atlanta too late to make our flight to DFW. There was only one customer service agent on duty, and the line to re-book your flight had over 200 people in it when we got there. So I spent 3 hours on the phone with the airline to arrange a flight the next day. Had to sleep in the terminal overnight near the gate, with bright lights and overly loud muzak playing all night. The next morning we found they changed the gate to another terminal for that flight. That flight was delayed too. We finally arrived home 33 hours after leaving the ship. Our friends we were traveling with got bumped from our original return flight. They stayed in London for 2 nights on the airline's dime and got a direct flight home. They arrived at DFW 30 minutes after we did.
Flyin' to texas for family... my first flight was delayed by an hour while we were on the plane, 10mins for plane issues and the rest for frozen wings... then delayed another hour (still on the plane) after we landed in atlanta because the gate malfunctioned...
Missed my connection by 5 mins, all other flights were booked full, next flight i was guaranteex was in 12 hours close to midnight... i made friends with people in that airport, people on my flight, the workers, i watched shift change...
Finally, time to board... um... happened to be the time for a certain cycle too...
Landed in houstin at around 00:00 - 01:00... still had anouther 3hour ride with my grandparents...
Yeah, deltas on my list,... watched enough airport drama to fill a halmark series that day
Not dissing Qantas at all… but…
I was on a Boeing 737-800 with Qantas, NZAA (AKL) to YSSY (SYD), it was somewhat low-vis and a slight crosswind, it was a somewhat normal approach. On landing the plane pretty much SLAMMED into the ground and a few passengers screamed.
On another flight with Regional Express (REX) flight from YMRY (MYA) to YMER (MIM). We were in a Saab 340B. It was a beautiful approach until, again, on landing. The weather was calm but as we touched down we started to slide off the runway, we almost started running off the side of the runway and onto the grass at a really high speed. (Which was what I think the cause of the slip)
It legitimately felt like we were going to crash as we slid. I have videos on both of them and I will try to post it to YouTube in the coming days.
I was on a raft trip through the Grand Canyon, and when we returned, we learned that a commercial jet hit a microburst on approach in Dallas and everyone was killed. I was camping on Mt. Rainier and when we returned, we learned that a flight to Phoenx crashed on takeoff and everyone (but one) was killed. I was hiking in the Sierra Nevada and when we returned, we learned that the engine fell off of a DC10 and everyone was killed. I'm not telling you this because it's an amazing coincidence. I'm offering to sell you my vacation schedule.
I sat in a middle seat on the flight home from my honeymoon. My husband was asleep but I can't sleep on planes. It would've been fine except for the guy sitting to my left. First of all he had really bad headphones on super loud, I assume they were bad because I could hear everything he was listening to so I couldn't read. That might not have been too bad but the biggest issue was he kept falling asleep on my shoulder. He'd nod off while I'm squeezing myself as far to the right as I can but every now and then I had to nudge him with my shoulder or elbow so I didn't have a stranger sleeping on me.
I am from India. Not the worst.. But travelling by trains esp. can be trying since reservations are hard to get. you have to really book in advance and the waiting list is competitive. also those travelling without reservation are big in numbers. I recently took a short train ride from Pune to Mumbai (almost 3.5 hours). Had reservation. So, the compartment go like Vistadome (high priced and perfect for the journey), AC Chair Car (good option and highly coveted), second class compartment (get reserved seat but is basic. good and cheap) and the general (highly cheap and first come first serve). The amount of those coming in second class with general ticket were many. highly irritating since some sit on seats which are reserved. but the chaos in trains from North India is shocking even for Indians..
Yeah I almost missed my stop in Agra once because I couldn't get OFF the train :)
