Does it ever feel like cats, kittens, dogs and puppies always get the most attention as pets?
Yes, they are very cute and they have reason to be the most popular pets in the world and have over thousands of breeds, but what about:
Goldfish?
Turtles?
Snakes?
Geckos?
Lizards?
Chameleons?
Birds?
Hedgehogs?
Frogs?
…and any other pets people consider to be ‘unusual’ or ‘exotic’ or ‘weird’?
They can all be very adorable! As long as it is not too ridiculous, is legal, and it is treated good, nothing suggests that owning e.i. Goldfish as a pet is bad!
( PLEASE treat our animal friends with respect and do not abuse them. To hell with those people who torture animals for fun and money.

Make sure that you can safely own an exotic pet before you do. For one, they might be expensive/dangerous/both, and for another, you have to make sure there are vets or people who will care for your pet in case of emergency. Due to the ‘only cats and dogs’ syndrome that is pretty common in most animal hospitals, it will be hard to do so.
Also, try not to let any mistakes happen in your time with your exotic pet. Especially with possibly aggressive animals.
