When things hit the fan a few weeks ago, I found myself in very familiar modes, helping others parse their thoughts and feelings, and getting them to look at a historic perspectives.

What role do you play in your groups, do you have different roles in different groups ??

I’m the family psychopath apparently. My job is to stand by and watch over everyone when someone dies. Bring them food, tissues, or whatever they need. I didn’t learn that until I was 10 and my uncle died. I got my ass beat because I saw his body and had a panic attack. I needed to be there for everyone else. So when something bad happens I’m the one to stand up straight and get things done. Which also means I’m the outlet for anyone who can’t handle their own emotions and need a target. All because I don’t cry. Never show weakness to your enemy. My mom taught me that. My role? Most hated. Funny how what they hate most they need often. I hear “didn’t you even care about —?” and “what’s wrong with you?” way too often. That’s just my mom’s family though.
