I am planning to be a funeral director.

Nice aspiration. Lots of science involved! Just remember that time management is your friend. Have fun, but remember that school should be your top priority :)

First. Where do you live? If in USA, learn very fast to make money. If in Europe or other continent with normal social-system.... Try to catch those dedicated student's apartments, what are between 300-400 euros. If you can't, rent an apartment by your own, if your parents can allow a monthly 500-600 euro for a studio. Try to avoid flatmates, or worse, roommates. It may seem as a fun living together, but believe me,it's not. I experienced this, me being in my graduate-year, and 2 flatmates in their 2nd years, doesn't giving too much f.u.c.k. and silence, when I needed the most. Also. If you have any opportunity, buy your books second-hand.

One of the last things my father said to me before he died was "As long as you do your very best, you can never disappoint me." All you can do is your best. If that is not good enough for other people, let it be good enough for yourself.

A waste of time and money unless you aspire to be a doctor, lawyer, or engineer.

Do not take out school loans. My ex-husband and I graduated in '93 and are still paying on them.

Live on campus in the dorms. You will develop great friendships.

If you must join a fraternity or sorority join one that is coed and donates their time to the community, a case, or a charity.

Do not go out alone at night.

Stay sober during parties.

1. Studies come first. Social comes second.

2. Be responsible. If you have an early class, make sure you are in bed early so you don't fall asleep in class.

3. Keep your living and study spaces clean and tidy. Even if you have an absolute horrible no-good very bad day, you will come home to a clean living space.

4. Irrespective of your sex, NEVER go out alone. Have a buddy with you. When the proverbial fecal matter hit the proverbial spinning blades on a night out, you have someone that can help you, and two heads are always better then one.

5. Always have breakfast. An energy bar and redbull won't cut it.

All the best for your future.

I love that idea! That sounds super fun! Yeah, I would say try to get everything from second hand stores or buy them from other college students who don’t need them anymore. Also, get yourself in clubs or extracurricular activities with older students. It’s great for both community and they can give you pointers in classes or you can buy old textbooks from them.
