Me: *explaining that I want to get my nose pierced*
G: *not having it at all*
Me: *somehow says that I’m bi (don’t remember exactly)*
G: *freezes for a second, then looks at me*
G: so... what does that mean?
Me: it means I like all genders, but I prefer girls.
G: when I was a kid, we just called that friends.
Me: No, grandma, I like girls romantically. I want to marry a girl.
G: Back in my day (yeah, she literally said that) we just had girls, and we had boys.
Me: Grandma, it’s never been just girls and boys.
G: Well, you’re too young to have decided.
Me: It’s not a decision. And you never said any of this when I told you about my crushes on guys!
G: you never told me about your crushes on guys. (I most definitely had, more than once.)
*there’s a pause, she has to go take care of something*
G: so do your parents know about the... um... *whispers* bisexual thing?
Me: it’s not a swear word, grandma, you can say it! Yes, they know. And they’re both super loving and supportive of me. (I tried to make this very clear that they supported me and would back me up.)
Me: hey, could you do me a favor and not tell anyone? Especially [my uncle]’s family? They’re Trump supporters, and they might not (probably not) take it very well.
G: Well, yeah, of course not, I won’t tell anybody since you haven’t decided-
Me: it’s not a decision! But thank you. (She’s kinda notorious for telling people stuff she shouldn’t).

So yeah, that’s how my coming out to my grandma on my dad’s side went (my other grandma took it great!). She obviously thought it was a phase and that I was being influenced my the internet and whatever.

I thought omni (what my sexuality is) Was when you're attracted to all genders with a preference. And that bi was when you're attracted to boys and girls with a preference. (But than on the other hand bi means two or more so im not sure)

My trans friend's grandma took it very well and was happy for her. Her mother, on the other hand, suggested Christian conversion camps. Yikes...

I’m gay.
Not the interesting since she is super loving and nice :) but after a little bit of conversing as I casually said I had a crush on a guy, she asked ‘but do you like any cute girls?”

My grandparents were totally chill with me being queer. That said, they have been dead for a long time and are pretty chill in general, I guess
