I'm not sure if this counts as a theory, but I think there will be a brief Lumity break-up. Amity will get jealous of Hunter and fight with Luz over it, and this will lead to a break-up where Luz will be with Hunter before ultimately realizing she loves Amity. Luz is canonically bisexual, and I feel like that could be the basis for a plot line.
So this is dark and made my partner sad
But what if the Boiling Isles is all in Luz's imagination? Everything she thinks basically happens. What if summer camp didn't work and she got so far in her fantasy she actually went insane?

Bit late to the party, but in the episode Knock Knock Knocking on Hooty's Door(best episode), I think Ed and Em were in on the Hooty's plan to get Amity and Luz together. This seems like something they would do, and this idea doesn't hurt anyone, so I'm going along with it.
That actually makes a lot of sense. I agree that that episode or the finale is the best!
