Keep your chin up and be yourself. Cliques aren't always a good thing. Do your best and always be kind. Smile often and enjoys your high school years. They go by quickly. Good luck and best wishes

1) Be certain you need to go to university/college. Sometimes it will be better for your chosen career to get work experience instead, or work and do your qualification part time

2) Do not take out any loans you do not need. Companies prey on students.

3) Use a condom / the pill. Please don't limit your life choices by getting an std or creating a baby.

I graduated high school in 2020. If I could go back and give advice to my freshman self, this is what I would say:

-Make real friends.
There will be people who want to be your friend just to use you or to make fun of you. Watch out for which of your friends actually spend time with you just for fun, and which ones only do it when they get something out of it.

-Connect with the teachers.
Not all teachers are gonna be your favorite, but it’s important to respect them (assuming they aren’t doing anything blatantly wrong.) And if you happen to find a teacher you really like, let them know a little extra how appreciated they are.

-Think about your future.
If you can choose courses, choose ones that will help your desired career. If you plan on going to college, be active in clubs (if possible).

-Ask questions.
If you don’t understand something, ask. If you want to know more, ask. If you have ADHD like I do and you just forgot to listen to the instructions, ask. The teachers generally don’t bite, and you could be asking the same question someone else has but is too afraid to ask.

-Learn from your mistakes.
You’re going to make mistakes, and that’s okay. High school is a really tough stage of life. If you beat yourself up over every mistake you make, you’re going to be a pretty remorseful person. Learn from what you do wrong, and if possible fix it. Ask how you can do better next time.

-Take breaks.
Grades are important, but so is your mental health. Don’t overwork yourself, and don’t sacrifice your permanent well-being for something temporary.

Good luck, have fun, and go make memories!!!
