My friend and I are making a fantasy manga and we’re trying to brainstorm any name we can give to our world. It’s got “races” like elves, dwarves, giants and a race that’s like humans but with magic. I don’t know what to call the last race though. I’m not calling them witches or wizards as that’s what i call a person who extensively studies magic and invents a few spells of their own after years of research. Any advice on how to avoid some annoying clichés would be accepted

The main danger with regards to falling into clichés is less about using them and more about relying heavily on them. Familiarity isn't a bad thing, but monotonous familiarity is. To this day, for instance, most elves are fancy and old and pretty and good with magic/bows and often a little snobbish, and people don't necessarily tire of that until they find ten elves who are all interchangeable. To a certain extent, deliberately subverting clichés can be just as bad if you allow the population to become uniform again.
One thing many people have recommended is NOT relying on a conlang with regards to naming things, etc; this is because, contrary to popular belief, LOTR+ was supplementary material to Tolkien's linguistic adventures and not the other way around, and thus the core example of such a choice is a bit of a lie. I mean, you can if you want to, it's just a lot more work than it sounds like it should be.
I'd say the biggest pitfall that gets jumped on with regards to worldbuilding is forgetting to make the world feel lived-in. Think about the way different groups affect each other, the way daily life factors into your world, etc. Otherwise you get stuff like the "who the hell is keeping the plumbing working in Divergent?" question.
