Im not afraid of the dark itself but the second the downstairs light go off i am running upstairs. Im just scared of what is in the dark, like if i go to the bathroom at night i have to check behind the door and in the shower before i will close the door

I used to be afraid but not anymore. I enjoy being in my room with all the lights out. It's calming because I can't see what would normally disturbe my peace.
I can't sleep with the light out, so yeah
I used to be, but I've been locked up in this damp, cold, and cramped cell for so long, I've gotten used to it.
Of course I’m afraid of the dark, but I’m more afraid of the darkness inside me...
more of what's in the dark, I need to see my surroundings, I think it's part of the reason I don't like to nap, I have to know what's around me, I have to know it's safe for me to continue with my day.
tbh yes. but i have a good reason. so my house has a really long driveway and my house is in the woods so nobody can actually see it unless they drive up our driveway. and it is so scary when i look out my window at night cuz all i can see are trees. i always get the feeling that someone is also watching me when im asleep. i probably need to stop watching cop shows

I am not afraid of the dark. I am though afraid of what hides in it, what monsters live in it, and anything like that. I try to stay away. Kinda like the vashta-nerada.
...No but it does make me uncomfortable when it's truly dark (that being pitch black)
