When I was just a teenager I used to play a game with daisies ‘he loves me – he loves me not’ by pulling off their petals. And most of the time the last petal would be the ‘he loves me’ one and my cheeks would turn slightly red.
Oh, he loves me!
I‘ve noticed the flower, resembling that tiny meadow daisy at the heart of Old Town, and got excited as I had my camera with me. Sometimes, the nicest shots are taken at unexpected times.
Why did I make it black and white?
Because I wanted to express a clear opposing thought, it‘s either YOU LOVE or YOU LOVE NOT.
P.S. In the original French version of the game, the petals do not simply indicate whether the object of the player’s affection loves them, but to what extent: un peu or “a little”, beaucoup or “a lot”, passionnément or “passionately”, à la folie or “to madness”, or pas du tout or “not at all.”
