i am highly sceptical of all the people scoring 28/28 in this sort of quiz... just saying :)
Arguably WW1 ended in 1945, just with a pause in the middle for regrouping. More seriously, WWII could have been said to begin in 1936, or even 1941, depending on your definition of "world".
1919 would also be a good argument for the end date of ww1. 1918 was an armistice; the peace treaty was 1919 (with multiple other treaties in the next year or so for minor participants). Marshal Foch would agree with you though - he described Versailles as a 20 year armistice.
