Giant Tortoise And Baby Cow Who Lost Its Leg Become Best Friends, Do Everything Together

Leonardo the African spurred turtle was rescued from a Bangkok zoo in 2013, while Simon came in January after getting his leg seriously injured. The poor cow was with his mom when he got caught in the vines. Part of one of his hind legs had fallen off due to the accident, and the rescue center got him a prosthetic to help him walk. “We decided to house him temporarily in a large open field enclosure within the WFFT Rescue Center where he could recover from his ordeal,” WFFT wrote. “We had then planned to move him into a field where we house two other rescued cows.”

But then the unlikely thing happened – baby cow met the giant tortoise and they became best friends. “To the surprise of us all Simon the cow has formed a strong bond with the large tortoise Leonardo,” WFFT writes.

Staff says that the two are inseparable: “They are often seen following each other around, sharing meals and resting together. We hope this unusual friendship continues to flourish.”

I love when animals of different species become friends. If animals can do it, so can people :) Love is a universal language.

yeah, first of all there is only one species of human at the moment (the last time we had another species around was with Homo Neanderthalensis, which became (inexplicably!!! ;P) extinct. Second, as far as we know ;) animals don't have religion... which has been known to cause certain... well, let's call it... tension. Third, very few of them carry guns... animals-ca...133625.jpg animals-carrying-rocket-582e05a133625.jpg

ERMAHGERSH!! Simon's cow eyes are only the mostest saddest sweetest eyes of the entire moo-speaking species. Those eyes just beg for friendship, but with Simon being a prosthetically-abled moo-cow, it's been dang near impossible to find a friend he can actually keep up with. A gravity-defying gazelle wouldn't have the patience to just chill with sweet little Simon. A cheetah or leopard most definitely couldn't wait around for Simon to catch up when it's time to runrunrun right nownownow! A greyhound, regardless if canine or mechanical transport, would leave poor little Simon behind in their wake. But Leonardo the ginormous giga-turtle?? Only the most perfect bestie EVER for little Simon! Leo's never in a rush. Leo likes grazing and chillin' in the shade too, just like Simon. Simon keeps trying to rub foreheads with Leo, as cows are wont to do when they lubs somebunny, but Simon can't even FIND Leo's forehead. No matter; they're still BFFs.

It's so awesome when animals make friends with a different species. The human race could learn a lot from these two.

If it's a cow it's a female, otherwise it would be a bull. How can you call a cow "Simon"?
