Someone on Reddit said they found some details: Connie (the MOB) had a daughter named Sabrina, who díed in 2022 at the age of 21. Connie's other daughter, Christina (Sabrina's sister), got married, and at her wedding, Connie "went unhinged and 1.made the day about her d**d daughter, not her living one, 2. apparently got super wasted, 3. asked people to send her money via PáyPál, and 4. ruined her youngest daughter's special day". In subsequent replies to Connie's post above, the groom, family, and friends ripped Connie to shreds. IMO it's an absolute tragedy that Sabrina díed young, but Christina also lost a sister. And on Christina's wedding day, it IS about her and not about her deád sister. I'm sure Christina would have wanted her sister to be present at her wedding, but not like THIS.

My stepdaughter wanted a destination wedding that would have been about $5k/person (flights, hotels, etc.). I asked her who would be going? Most of her friends, her mom's family, my family, and her dad's family couldn't/wouldn't be able to afford it.... SHE couldn't even afford it! So, I asked what was more important the destination wedding or having friends and family there? She had a local wedding with everyone there and gifted them the down-payment on a home. (Which wouldn't have happened the other way.)

From OP: "My husband and I live in a small town and our municipal office does civil marriages. We got married on our property, just us two, our 6 month old and we had the required 2 witnesses, one of which was the photographer. We wanted nice photos to be able to at least share with all the people we didn't invite. The paperwork asks if there would be a photographer and we checked off yes. The day of our officiant (who works at our municipal office) shows up and I am floored by the outfit she chose. A blue ocean themed dress with starfish all over it (we are getting married basically in a forest) and to top it off she's wearing a hot pink bra with the straps completely visible. So yeah all our ceremony photos were absolutely ruined because she sticks out like a sore thumb. I was under the impression that officiants dressed neutral like pants and a button up or something but this woman looked like our wedding was a stop on her way to the beach."

As someone that works in service industry. Yes, a child still counts as human and how many the facility may hold. They still need chairs. If you expect a group of 4 of people at restaurant, and show up with 3 unexpected children the table for 4 you made ready is not big enough. Always make sure the children is accounted for.

I'll d*e on the hill that Crocs have their uses, like when Stilgar was a puppy and very sick with distemper and I had to run outside with him in my arms at a moment's notice XD It was nice having a pair of very-washable slip-on style shoes sitting next to the sliding door that I could just jam my feet into even as I was rushing outside with a puking and/or pööping puppy XD That being said, I would d*e on that same hill before I wore these bedazzled Crocs!

I had an absolutely conventional wedding. Sounds boring, but the advantage is that everyone knows what's what, so everyone can relax knowing how the ceremony, pictures, reception and dinner will go and what is expected of them. Yes, sure, the guests might not have been 'their authentic self' but come on, who doesn't present the best version of themselves at these kinds of mile-stones?
