Much like a haphazard social media post, it would be nearly impossible to take back a hypocritical statement or behavior. However, Stalder says we can address our inconsistent actions in less biased ways, beginning by acknowledging the wrongdoing.
The next step would be to find a way to move on, regardless of how long the backlash from the hypocrisy lingers.

"the right of the people" - collectively. The US politicians who made that change to the US constitution knew exactly what they were doing when they used the phrase 'the people' rather than 'each person'. The words they chose makes it very plain they did *not* intend that each and every person should be permitted to 'keep and bear Arms'. I realize that me making this rather obvious point will trigger an awful lot of people. 😉
