Actually, I kinda feel uncomfortable near much taller people. Like more vulnerable, idk. Weird.
That's pretty common, actually. My husband is very tall and people get intimidated. He makes a point not to walk near other people when he's out and about, especially women.

Just want everyone to know--especially those with confidence and self-esteem issues--you are perfect the way you are! Don't let other people's definitions of "perfect" change you. If a person truly loves and cares about you (platonic or something more) they will do anything for you, despite your "faults". Honestly, I like to think of faults as battle scars because they are a testament to who you are. Work to overcome them, but don't hide them--there's a story to each one. :)
