Santa is just horrible to Rudolph in that show until he realizes what Rudolph can do for him.
He really is being selfish and it really bothers me now that I'm older that they treated him that way and they are all of a sudden wanting to be friends because they see a possibility to use him for their own personal gain. On the other hand, that Santa looks exactly like the one in the actual cartoon.

Indeed - a real Santa would bring toys and books to poor kids - and really give the naughty ones, such as bullies, coal.
Even the bullies have a heart - they deserve gifts too, something could be going on at home or anything like that really.
