Hilarious Theme Song Accompanies Racist Woman As She’s Removed From Flight

A woman was reportedly removed from a United Airlinesflight after trying to open the emergency door and making racist comments — and the first class cabin gave her a hilarious sendoff.

An Instagram video showed her final moments before she was escorted off by authorities after the plane was forced to make an emergency landing. As she walked by, a first class passenger played the theme from Curb Your Enthusiasm, causing everyone to burst out laughing.

Highlights
  • A woman was removed from an airline for racist comments and trying to open emergency door mid-flight.
  • Rob Thomas uploaded the viral video calling the scene 'perfection.'
  • The clip has over 1,000 comments, mostly finding humor in the event.

Unfazed, the woman was seen calmly checking her phone before appearing to turn around and say something as she exited the aircraft.

American singer and songwriter Rob Thomas, @robthomas on Instagram, uploaded the video on September 23 and said the whole situation was “perfection” in his caption.

It read, “Our friend and @matchboxtwenty drummer @nealdaniels_ had a woman screaming racist things and try to open the door to the plane while in the air. After an emergency landing he hit her with the @curbyourlarrydavid theme.”

Any further details about the incident, such as flight date and route, have not been released.

The clip has gained more than 1,000 comments, a majority of which were poking fun at the situation

“An actual ‘everyone liked that’ moment caught on camera lmao,” said one user, which has amassed more than 6,000 likes.

Someone added, “As a flight attendant, I wouldn’t have been able to keep a straight face if I’d been there. Well played.”

However, one retired cabin crew member urged viewers to treat the woman with sympathy.

“As a former flight attendant I could tell you how many different things sometimes horrific things happen on flights. Sometimes people are claustrophobic and cannot handle being in an tight tube.

“I know there are meds for this but in reality everyone is going through something and we do not always know the true story. Compassion comes to mind.”

Though not necessarily in direct response, others said there was no excuse for her behavior.

One user wrote, “The people blindly defending this woman are out of their gourds. She put everyone on that plane in danger. I have a lot of sympathy for the other passengers whose travel plans were disrupted.”

“Racism is not a mental illness!” another commented. “It’s an ideology that she CHOSE to act upon and endanger hundreds of lives! She gets compassion when she shows improvement as a human. Ty for coming to my ted talk. Do better people pls.”

A similar incident happened in 2019 when two women were racially abusing a group of Muslim travelers

A commercial airline, set to fly from Turkey to London, kicked out two unnamed women after they claimed three Muslim travelers were a danger to everyone on board, asking flight attendants to remove them.

As reported by The Mirror, the disruptive passengers were British and believed to be in their 30s. One of the women was said to have been suffering a panic attack while throwing racist accusations, and take off was delayed for 70 minutes.

The entire interaction was filmed by several people as authorities came to escort the two away.

A study showed an overwhelming number of complaints against aviation security for racially-motivated behavior

It seems that passengers aren’t the only ones to be guilty of discriminatory attacks.

The U.S. Government Accountability Office reported that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) received 3,700 complaints regarding civil rights violations within a 2.5-year period. Upon review by the TSA Multicultural Branch, 52% (1,066) of the complaints found indications of potential discrimination and unprofessional conduct, involving race and other factors.

While TSA prohibits unlawful profiling — screenings for selective passengers based on race, ethnicity, etc. — the high number of allegations of discriminatory behavior caused an investigation.

People on social media laughed along to the impromptu theme song being played

Um claustrophobia would account for trying to get out. It in no way accounts for spewing racist trash and hate speech

I have a mild case of it, myself (claustrophobia, not racism). You're absolutely right.

I'm glad everyone is okay but omg! The - "I had a panic attack!" defence... I really hate it when people resort to using mental health conditions as their defence for being a completely dangerous nimwit. My panic attacks leave me unable to move, I'm not speaking for everyone btw, but I concentrate on my breathing, do 'grounding' techniques such as concentrating on, say, a pen. "This pen has blue ink, the colour of the pen is clear but looks white..." etc. It eventually subsides. I might take a Propanalol too to help get my heart rate down. But the last thing I'd ever ever ever want to do is harm anyone else. It's why mental health issues have such a stigma around them, because some people ignorantly claim that they're mentally ill when they're actually not. I'm not referring to her specifically btw. I mean in general...

I can understand stress having a lot of physical reactions - crying, fainting, panicking, but saying racist things out loud seems like her personality.

“Clickbait” doesn’t mean what you seem to think it means. The title is perfectly correct. Moreover, the BP staff doesn’t hang out in the comments and so isn’t hear to see your question/insult.

So I worked in the emergency intake for psych and you’d be surprised how often paranoia about those different than you and mental brokenness go hand in hand. I have no idea if this is what happened here but the flight attendant is correct. This can happen. We have a dangerous idea in our society that those who are racist deserve every action, every hateful word and anything follows. This is just hatred. So we combat hatred with hatred? I don’t know this woman’s story. I’m glad she was escorted off and no one was hurt. But I won’t pour hatred on her head. She seems to have enough problems. Also don’t have a problem with consequences to the fullest extent of the law when they look into it. Because they WILL know her story. Be careful guys. Don’t become what you hate.

I love the way it's assumed that everyone knows why the theme to 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' is fitting and funny - we don't all live for the U.S. and it's television.

Are you from the UK? When I used to be a police officer we once played the Benny Hill theme song down the tannoy when going to a blue light call on night duty instead of the sirens. It was a good 15 years ago, probably couldn’t do that now!

I don't understand how racism and sexism can still exist today... I mean we have the internet... As a kid when i was told the insane teaching in islam that resemble the rhetoric of andrew tate all i had to do was use the internet to see the outside world without the lense of the ppl who wanted to program me. WW2 soviet soldiers and astronaut were INDEED filled with both men and women. So how come that that these losers thoughts they were superior to women by default and they were all weak and emotional etc... These two women could have done the same. They could have went on the internet and realised that olive skin and arabic != Muslim. Even then muslims are not all secular and insane and on the level of andrew tate. As much as i hate the muslim cult and that it was thrust upon me as a kid in north africa. I hate more the ppl who see my skin color and assume i am muslim aka racists... Cus of course your ethnicity and skin color are the only thing that matters about ppl...
