My name is Olga. I live and work in Russia. And, it would seem, I am an unremarkable person… But today it’s not about me , it’s about our family craft.
My family has been spinning goat hair yarn and knitting warm accessories for more than 100 years.
This is a very exciting experience. And it’s eco-friendly. Wool is the best that nature can give us. I have already seen this many times. In severe cold weather, only things made of wool are warm.
Do not harm nature-this is the main motto of our family.
Live in harmony with nature. Probably, each of us aspires to it.
During the collection of wool, the animals do not suffer, we only take away their wool, which sheds. And from it we make a thread for knitting.
Recently we started painting wool with herbs. I have been looking for a way to dye goat hair that would preserve all its useful properties . And I found it! This is staining with herbs .This method preserves the Shine of the wool and does not destroy the fiber structure. And the most valuable thing is that it is not dangerous for the environment. And what magic colors are obtained.. I’m in love with him. Each time something new and unusual happens. But very beautiful.
For more than 100 years, the secrets of spinning and knitting have been passed from woman to woman in our family.I really like what we do. I hope you enjoy our creativity.
