I give up. I wrote out the full sentence “It is a great day to go hiking.” To be told it was incorrect, which I can only assume was because I capitalised the first letter. Also there are no full stops on any of the sentence examples. A waste of time to even try this quiz.
I had the same experience. The supposed correct answer to number 11 was without a capital for the first letter. This is all too common in these puzzles. Obviously BP staff are not computer competent enough to make puzzles.
Load More Replies...The answer for Number 5 was wrong, so I couldn't even work it out it. It needs 2 words added! "She HAD better BE prepared next time if she wants to pass the exam"
That would be proper English to me. Or at least "she'd". "She better" is a colloquialism.
Load More Replies...Total bollox (and yes I do know the correct spelling of that 😄)
Load More Replies...Absolutely every sentence is missing a period at the end which makes absolutely every answer wrong. In #6 and #11, the contracted form isn't accepted even though the answer explanation says that it's acceptable. #9 doesn't have a comma before the conjunction, so it's doubly wrong. In #12, "the famous croissant" implies that there is only one. Using "one of the famous croissants" would be better, and using "one of their famous croissants" would be better still unless they're not actually made by anybody and pop out of thin air. In #13, "than most people" includes people that are not even in the race, so he could still be last place. Using "than most other participants" would be better. In #15, "the cat's tail" is redundant. Using "his tail" would be better.
It is VERY annoying that sometimes you have to write the wrong word, sometimes the correct form, sometimes the full sentence, why???
How you prepare an English quiz: Step 1, know some English. Mission failed.
OK - I had 6, 11, 19 and 20 all correct and the test kept saying they were incorrect 😕
Ok, i wrote 20 out 8 times. 8 F-ing times. Every time is said incorrect, I click "I give up" and it gives me NO ANSWER!?!? Like what the AF did i type wrong? I even added a full stop at the end, removed it. Everytime it was apparently wrong?!?!? It would have been nice to know what it was MEANT to be. Oh, and 6 - I put an apostrophe in, as it was written that way, but thats wrong. Type "It is..." and answer says that "it's" would have been acceptable. This was 🐕 💩
I would write the correct word only to be told it was wrong. Someone needs to relearn how to program again. What a pain in the butt!
i almost quit on the stupid hiking one. then i DID quit after the incorrect "neither" one. "neither" is singular and requires a singular verb. therefore "neither ... was" is correct.
"Write out the full form". "But you could use the short form if you wanted to" B***h, you told me to write out the full form.
As with many quizzes on BoredPanda, questions are rife with errors. Number 4, for example, is missing a period at the end of the sentence and there is a comma in the middle of the sentence even though (see what I did there?) there is a subordinating clause that comes next. I was fixated on those common errors and didn't notice that although the word 'badly' was modifying the verb 'feel', in this context, it should be the adjective form. As a suggestion, perhaps BoredPanda quiz creators could have a cross-checking session before publication to see if their obscure mistakes are not outshone by a multitude of other errors. I stopped after #4. This quiz wasn't worth my time.
Some of my answers were correct and I was told they were wrong. I'm an English teacher. This test is embarrassing.
Some of them wanted you to write the wrong answer out - was it that?
Load More Replies..."Cats have tailes, not tales." My cat dares to differ that! Or as she'd say: "Mauw, miew miauw!
I stupidly did it and got NO feedback at all. I think l got them right but l haven't received the answers. What a waste of time
You get a green box beneath each correct answer, a red box if incorrect. If you get a red box you can either re-type your answer or click on the orange 'I give up' box beneath the red one. If you are not seeing any of the boxes, are you forgetting to click 'enter' after each answer? EDIT: why the downvote? I'm trying to help Tony to figure out why he isn't seeing any feedback on his answers.
Load More Replies...No 5 - shame on you - She HAD better be prepared or She'd etc 'She better be' is utter cr*p
Why is the text in image form? If it was text, I could copy-paste instead of writing out the whole thing. I refuse to complete the assignment.
No one cares if you refuse to complete it. And it’s not an assignment, it’s some shítty online “quiz”.
Load More Replies...I wrote "This test is the hardest I have ever taken", only to be told it should be "taken" not "took." Er...
You wrote a differently structured sentence than they did.
