Dear USA, we were trying to smudge the evil and insanity out of your government. Unfortunately, there isn't enough white sage on Earth for that, so we had to improvise. But seriously, I promise, the smoke was miserable here in Canada, too. Not to mention the many Canadians losing their homes, businesses, and livelihoods. But sure, blame us for the basic scientific facts that your public schools aren't allowed to teach.

Before everyone comes at us stupid Americans, please remember that we are not taught 24hr time (what we call "military time".) It is not taught to us in school - we are taught 12hr AM/PM time. All of our clocks are 12hr clocks, not 24hr clocks. We are not used to 24hr time. It's not because we are "stupid", it's because we're ignorant XD Yes, we can learn it, and this person above IS an idiot because they didn't even know 24hr time exists, apparently, but we're not all just inherently turning away from 24hr time because we hate it XD We're unlearned. EDIT: Sigh. Guys, I'm just trying to explain WHY most Americans don't "understand" the 24hr-time thing and why Americans go "huh??" when a clock says 15:04. Thanks for the downvotes for me just trying to explain things. Go ahead and continue assuming all Americans are idiots.

If we take GDP per capita as the indicator, then using the 2025 numbers, it would actually be the second poorest, above Mississippi; closer than you might think. That said, it's an overly simplistic way of looking at it, and there are other things to consider. For example, the UK overall has lower incomes than the US, but also has different prices, taxes, housing costs, healthcare costs, public services, working hours, etc., so a definitive answer not reliably possible. That said, it is true that the UK would NOT be the poorest US state.

I suggest these people never step foot in India. It is a horribly confusing mash up of both American and British English. We pick what we want from each style.

I want to not laugh at this. Mostly because I’m personally someone that would possibly trip trying to step over because I’m unable to lift my feet very well (transitioning my life to using a wheelchair). But then I also would fall on my face if I tried to do what she did. So I’d have to really pause and pay close attention to where my foot is in relation to a tripping hazard (for me). But still. I can’t help but laugh.

Mmm.... Before the various Germanic invaders known to history as Anglo-Saxons rocked up on these septic isles, the languages were all British - their descendants are Welsh, Irish, Breton, Cornish, Manx and Scottish Gaelic, etc. The English language evolved from the languages imported by the Germanic tribes. At what point do you draw a line and say 'This counts as Old English'? Was it before or after the Germanic tribes came here? 🤷‍♂️ (PS yes I am intentionally winding up the Scots with that language list)
