Dreams Choose You By Maja Kostić

My name is Maja Kostić. I was born in july 1991. in Podgorica, Montenegro. I finished the University of Visual Arts in Podgorica, as a graphic designer. Had my first gallery exhibition 15th january, 2016. and am preparing for my second one this spring.

All of my artwork are originally black and white hand-drawn illustrations that are scanned and later (the colors) processed digitally.

I’ve been drawing ever since i can remember, and i knew i was gonna do it (in some way) ’till the rest of my life. The only thing I know is that I draw because I need to, and I draw whatever passes through my head without any other consideration. I often draw my dreams of adventures, travels, bonds with those close to me, even with those whom I’ve seen just once, and never again, etc.

All that happens to you during your life, remains inside you. So you dream. Dreams can be vivid. They can make you feel happy, sad, or scared. And they may seem confusing or perfectly rational. And through dreams we are dispelling obscurities in the realms of our life experience. Furthermore, when we begin to understand our dreams, we get a bigger picture to the sometimes puzzling nature of our lives.

By doing this, I gain a silent internal strength that allows me further growth, which as an artist, gives me even more inspiration to create.
