This Dog Was Too Injured To Move From A Moving Train, But His Brave Friend Came To Rescue Him

When this dog’s canine friend got injured and stranded on the tracks, he stayed with her under the passing trains for two days, saving the pooch from certain death. A group of animal rescuers from Uzhgorod, Ukraine, received a call saying two dogs were spotted on the railway track. Denis Malafeyev, who shared the touching story on Facebook, wrote: “When we arrived, it turned out that one of the dogs, the female, was injured and couldn’t move.” All this time, the healthy canine was trying to protect her. “The male dog heard the sound of the approaching train, came close to the female dog and laid down next to her… Both of them pushed their heads towards the ground, and let the train pass”.

Denis Malafeyev said the story made him emotional: “The male dog was doing this for two days in a row. Think about it. He was keeping her warm.”

Turned out the protective dog is named Panda, while his female friend is Lucy. The man was glad to inform the canines were given medical assistance and returned to their original owners, where they are safe and sound.

I think it was filmed by the first animal rescuer on the scene. Perhaps he needed more help and/or equipment to safely move her away (possible internal injuries etc) and while he was waiting a train passed by. Just a guess though

I'm not sure, but I think they helped them when they found them and maybe they are 2 days missing so they guess that the dogs are there for 2days? Or maybe there are cameras and as they found them they could see that they are ther for 2days? - I don't know how they know that the dogs were been there for 2 days, but I don't think they would wait 2days before help.

I suspect they guesstimated it was two days by the fact the owner(s) said that's how long the dogs were gone.

Also suspect the train drivers thought it was a dead animal or an item of clothing from their vantage point/ because the dogs barely move

I am very confused, they are saved that is fantastic news, but can someone explain why for two days trains kept running over them, what kind of train driver/conductor does not stop a train when something ALIVE is on the tracks, is this a thing? just run over them and keep going. If they knew for two days, does this mean it was reported and it took two days for anyone to get the correct help? Or is the 2 days just coming from the pet owners having reported once found that they had been missing for two days, and that it is an assumption that they were there for that length of time. I am very concerned though again, why was a train, any train permitted to keep going, what kind of driver could just keep doing that, even if they did not see it in time to stop, you would think that they would stop the train after passing, run like crazy back to where they saw the animals and see if all is ok, or not and at the most clear the tracks to avoid an actual crash situation ?

People, calm your s**t, the person who was recording this most likely had an actual good reason why they were recording it in the first place. They might have been waiting for proper animal rescuers, maybe they were waiting to get proper equipment, etc. Without them recording, you wouldn't be able to see this so calm down.. The dogs are safe and sound now, so please.

I'm tired of comments complaining about what should have happened rather than acknowledging the help the animal in question got. I know it's a human failing to look for what's wrong rather than what's right, but come on. It's mean. This is called in the psychologist trade: Being a blemish seeker. It's a common little thrill for the one who can complain loudest.

It's amazing they knew to keep their heads down when the train arrives. I also agree with majority: why didn't the person videotaping this try to get the dogs out of the tracks? Obviously they must have known the dogs knew to duck down as the train approached and must have watched that happen for them to tape it the next time. Another question: why were the dogs returned to the original owner? Did they find out for real that the dogs ran off or did the owner abandoned them there to their own fate. This story didn't really explain much after the dogs were rescued. I would have appreciated a more detailed story on these two dogs.
