71 Photos Of Cities That Feel Less Like Homes And More Like Warnings (New Pics)
Wherever you look, buildings are everywhere, blocking the skyline and filling up all our open spaces. Even though a concrete jungle can provide plenty of comfortable homes, it still feels like a dystopian nightmare when everything is grey and soulless.
That’s why folks are becoming more aware of urban hellscapes around the world that don’t seem like they should exist in the first place. You can check out all the shocking photos in this list, but be warned: it might paint quite a grim picture.

Los Angeles Homelessness Crisis
I still love how everyone thinks they know how to solve this issue, when the problem isn't council people causing or letting this happen, it's a wealth gap that Republicans keep allowing to grow. Period
This Comically Narrow House In Japan
Along the European side of the Bosphorus in İstanbul between Arnavutköy and Bebek there are rows of a few surviving 19th-century seaside "mansions" that are very long and almost as narrow as this. If you stand in the middle of a room with your arms outstretched, you can almost touch both walls; two people standing side-by-side can easily do so. It's worth pointing out that this wooden building is much older than the two buildings flanking it. There was very likely a whole row of structures similar to the one in the middle here at one time. This is the only survivor.

Communal Apartments. St.petersburg, Russia
This is not normal for Saint Petersburg, by the way. This is one of the old houses, which were turned into communal housing after the Revolution. Nowadays there are very few of such communal apartments left in the city and they are usually much better maintained. But there are some of the bad ones left, sadly.

New Orleans, USA
I've lived all over the US and New Orleans is by far the most beautiful. This photo shows one little corner that's maybe unattractive but that's normal for a city. Aside from the beautiful architecture, art, and music all around you, New Orleans has a TON of green. It's not a d**d landscape. The streets are lined with trees and there are way more parks than most cities in the US, including the massive 1300-acre City Park at its center.

And yet when I landed back in istanbul on my first annual leave from Dhahran Saudi Arabia, I was astonished at how virulent green everything seemed to be. It's astonishing what you can get used to by slow degree.
