“How Dare People Exist”: Influencer Gets Humbled For Shading Strangers In Her Disney Pics
Some people have truly internalized the misguided idea that they are the main character and everyone else is a distraction. So some have to do the dirty work of humbling them online. TikToker and bodybuilder Joey Swoll made a video calling out influencers who would go to Disneyland and complain about regular people being in their pictures.
Not only did this “Disney Adult” attempt to shame folks at a crowded theme park, but she went as far as to call them “Karens” just for existing. Bored Panda has reached out to Joey Swoll via email and will update the article when he gets back to us.

So one TikToker decided to shame them online for being so downright entitled
“So you titled the cover of this video, ‘Disney Karens ruining your pictures.’ Really? Imagine going to a busy theme park like Disneyland, standing in the middle of a busy street to take a photo and getting upset with people that look at you as they walk past you?”

“A photo, by the way, that you’re going to post on social media for the entire world to see. The narcissism today is unbelievable. These influencers think that just because they have a phone and a camera they can do what they want. They can disrespect people just to get likes and views. “

“And these people that you’re doing this to, they pay a lot of money to go to Disneyland and you think it’s okay to treat them that way?”

“If I was in charge at Disneyland I would ban your a** so you can learn to respect people. You need to do better. Mind your own business.”

“Disney Adults” are a relatively modern phenomenon
Some of the influencers being shamed in the above video are so-called “Disney Adults.” If you haven’t encountered this term before, here is a crash course. Disney, from cartoons, animated films, and children’s toys, makes media primarily for kids. This is perhaps less true now, but by and large, we tend to think of it as content for younger folks.
So “Disney Adults” are grown-ups who are not just Disney fans, but see it as a core part of their personality. This is not in of itself a bad thing in moderation. Any fandom is a community and a hobby for a person to pursue. Tying your personal identity to a product is perhaps questionable, but not the greatest evil in the universe.
However, as with many fandoms, this obsession comes with a misplaced elitism. After all, fans who know the ins and outs of their topic tend to look down on “casual” enjoyers. While this is toxic but somewhat inevitable, it tends to be invisible outside of niche internet forums. However, Disneyland is one of those rare places where superfans and people who just want to go on some rides might end up interacting.

Feeling like everything exists for your benefit is textbook narcissism
Once you mix in some narcissism and “main character syndrome” you get the sort of situation described by Joey Swoll above. A person feels like this massive theme park that they neither own nor helped build is somehow their space and all these other paying guests are a nuisance. After all, the influencer seems to legitimately believe her audience, perhaps most of the other “Disney Adults” will sympathize with her “plight.”
It’s not hard to diagnose this sort of behavior, as it’s textbook entitlement. This person has a firm belief that other people are simply “in her way,” and she will go as far as to post their pictures and call them “Karen’s” online. Perhaps the silver lining is that she isn’t in any real position of power.
The literal definition of narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) is a person who has a “sense of entitlement to special treatment and to obedience from others, typically without commensurate qualities or accomplishments.”
Complaining about people in a crowded place being in your photos is hugely out of touch
Given that “having some Instagram followers” and “really liking Disney” isn’t a commensurate quality or accomplishment, it becomes pretty obvious that this person simply suffers from NPD. To play the devil’s advocate, it is annoying to have your pictures photobombed, but believing that, somehow, the most popular theme park in the world will be magically empty is delusional thinking.
Even worse, this influencer decided to post these images highlighting the people in the background. While it’s a tad strange to carry this belief, it’s quite telling that she made a whole post about it. This suggests that she truly thinks most viewers are on her side and that her beliefs are massively out of touch.

Viewers shared their annoyance with these kinds of influencers
Went to Disney a few years back with my then partner. We sat down to watch one of the shows and decided to take a selfie together. One of the people sitting behind me leaned over to do a photobomb so I turned round and told her and her mates to all lean in and join the pic. No need to be an a-hole, you're on holiday so just enjoy it
I've done this, makes for THE BEST photos!

And implying what you look like is spoiling their photo
Load More Replies...If I saw an influencer making a video of themselves like this in a public place, I would be so very tempted to be doing something in the background like giving them the finger or something—-if I was feeling really adventurous, I would moon them—-so their idiotic narcissistic video would be complete with my commentary.
I wouldn't go out of my way to ruin the shot, but if I'm walking in the background oh well, they'll just have to live with my existence.

To me, the scary part to all of this is the "instigate a situation and film reactions to it". Create a negative situation for others on purpose, to film the negative reactions, so it appears something that it is not. We don't know if the photographer said things, but it looks like they are looking at the camera, not her. Innocent people being manufactured negatively only for views/likes/followers. I don't even think all of them were looking at her, just more in that area.
If she stayed at one of the 3 Disneyland resorts, she could have had the privilege of getting into the park 30 minutes before it opens. She also could have faked a wedding between $6.5k-$180k for either early or late access for those selfies. It's rumored you can also rent out a section of the park, like Adventureland for $180k. So, unless she's making "baller status influencer money," she's going to have to rub shoulders with mere peasants.
The thing is, you know she didn't see the response video, and wouldn't care. These people live in their own little world and couldn't care less about anyone else. Does she even have fun at Disney, or just go to take photos and vids?
I wouldn't guarantee it. I'd guarantee Joey gets a hell of a lot more views than that random influencer.

I can't bare most influences! There's some that are absolutely lovely, but can't stand most of them. Their entitlements are off the charts! How dare she? These so called influences (I say so called because they don't influence anyone I know) dare ask for expensive products for having them mentioned on their posts. Most don't need that form of advertising. The ones that get me the most are those who force their children to partake. There's a lot of rules about doing this including, you have to do a certain amount of time used to "influence" when you involve children, it ruins their life! These kids are already at school and have other things going on. It's too much for a child! Everything around their posts have to be perfect (no toys etc) are ever seen. I've spoke to a man who begged his wife to stop altogether or leave me and the children out of it. That person left because their overall life wasn't good. In his words "it was a nightmare" there's lots of other rules too. Awful!
If I don't want any strangers in the background of my picture, I just stand against a wall. It's that simple. If I take a picture out in the open, I can accept the strangers existing (although I may edit them out of absolutely necessary, like for the sake of their privacy (not mine)).
Most of the people are looking at her the way they are, because influencers are among the cringiest people in the world. Especially people like this, who aren't really terribly well known, but act like they're famous big shots. Walking around posing everywhere, with their devoted "assistant" snapping pictures and following along after them like a little puppy dog. Often it's the boyfriend who does that for them, which is even cringier. They think they're so special and important. But in reality, they just look SO stupid. They'll never see it that way though. JS is right. It's absolute narcissism. They're slaves to the attention. And people just keep on giving it to them. It's really kind of pathetic.
I luv how the guy in the 4th pic is walking like that one bigfoot photo
There are so many ways to limit the AMT of people in your picture...back up to a plant, fountain, store front. Then blur or even ...REMOVE objects. Iphones have that right? I feel like they have an iPhone
I just don't understand : if a person travels somewhere to see " something ", be it an ancient monument, nature park, wildlife, etc. why do they want to take photos of themselves ? IMHO they are narcissists. Only a couple of times, I've asked other people to take my photo with something special, such as in the cab of the famous Mallard steam locomotive, the record - holder for fastest steam locomotive at the York railway museum. But that's a special interest to me. Not taking your own photo wherever you are.
Does *anyone* over the age of 25 *really* give a damn about these "influencer" idiots?
Just had another Disney Karen at it. She yelled at a women and her son for speaking Spanish and made a video, of course. She should have to spend 3 hours on the "Small World" ride to understand there aren't any Language restrictions in the US.
see how infuriating it is that Joey Swoll got involved he usually only does gym videos but this is so annoying it got his attention
