22-year-old professional dancer Cassandra Naud was born with a large birthmark under her left eye. Although she begged for a birthmark removal operation in her youth, she now refuses to get one—saying that she appreciates her unique facial feature, which helps her stand out in her field.
The Alberta, Canada-based professional dancer was teased throughout her youth for the black birthmark on her face, which is also covered in hair (a condition called hypertrichosis). Her parents were afraid to operate on it for fear that it would leave large scars, distorting her pretty face. Read on for her story! I saw her dancing once in Fort McMurray Keyano Theater stage. To bad all conversation here about her birthmark. The face it just a face. With whatever features. But as a dancer she was phenomenal. As a ex-professional dancer myself I was blown away that Fort McMurray have such strong dance school capable of raising such talent. This is NOT a port wine stain birthmark. Port wine stain birthmarks (nevus flammeus) are the color of, well, port wine. Those are usually no big deal either but there is a rare neurological disorder that may accompany them (depending on where they are located). Examination of these two types of marks should be evaluated and monitored by a physician.
