“Got It All Planned”: Woman Googles A Creepy Client She Escaped, Finds His Disturbing Record

As many women who have worked in hospitality know, some men don’t need much to turn into absolute creeps. Give them a smile (because it’s part of the job) and they will immediately start hitting on you.

Recently, a hotel employee, Reddit user Other-Cantaloupe4765, had an incredibly persistent client.

After he struck up a conversation with her, the woman quickly realized that he had already imagined their entire future together and wasn’t going to back off easily.

In many places, healthcare and hospitality workers are the ones who receive the most unwanted advances

Sadly, this case isn’t a standalone example. Female staff in healthcare and hospitality might experience the most undesirable behavior in the workplace.

For example, according to the numbers from Statistics Netherlands (CBS) and the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), 17% of local workers (aged 15 to 75) reported becoming the targets of appalling sexual attention, harassment, violence, or bullying at work in the past 12 months, but in healthcare, the figure stood at 30%, and in hospitality it was 20%. This might not sound that much compared to the average, but for comparison, in agriculture, it hovered around 7%.

According to the Unite union’s Not on the Menu survey,  89% of hospitality industry workers in the UK have experienced at least one incident of sexual harassment throughout their career in the industry.

Of those who did, 56.3% said they had been targeted by a member of the public, and 22.7% said they had been harassed by a manager. At least half of the workers who had been harassed also said the experience made them want to leave their jobs and made them feel unsafe and less confident at work.

At least the woman behind this story has her manager looking out for her.

Heads up to all men: Just because we’re nice to you when you come into our place of WORK does NOT mean we’re at all interested in you. We’re just trying to keep our jobs, because otherwise, we’d be knocking you into next week for your ridiculous assumptions and creepy behavior. So here’s how you should handle situations like this: Don’t be a f*****g creep. Turn your behavior around and imagine how you would feel if a total stranger said pervy s**t like that to you. I highly doubt you would be receptive to it, because stuff like that only works in p***o movies and NOT in real life. You live in real life with the rest of us, so act like a normal person, ffs, be. Decent human being and leave the young girls TF alone. They’re absolutely NOT interested in you, believe me. So just back the f**k OFF, perv!

I’Ve had a nip bottle of vodka in my freezer for so many years I don’t even remember how old it is … or rather I HAD one. After reading this post, I was in *such* a panic I was scared I’d have a heart attack, so I grabbed it and drank it. (Brain freeze!) I can’t remember reading anything more terrifying. That poor girl! I’m sooo relieved she held it together, but I’m still feeling panicky that she still works there! I don’t think I’d be able to return to work after that! HE KNOWS WHERE SHE WORKS. Gaaah; I’m thinking I’m gonna need another nip bottle. Here I am terrified for some stranger in PA. I really hope she doesn’t appear in a news item here on BP in an appalling story about death and dismemberment. 😰😰😰

I think one of the problems with men like this is that on paper it sounds great, I mean personally, I’d love to live on a farmstead with my cats and someone else earning all the money who I loved and cared for too. But their brain has skipped the most important bit, the beginning bit where you consent to date a person, and then build a relationship. It’s as if they want something ready-made. And they can’t compute *why* someone else wouldn’t want this. It’s so unbelievably creepy.

I'm an older woman working in hospitality for just a few months now, and this still terrifies me. When people are delusional, anything goes. I'm all about saying, "Look, I'm nice to you as part of my job in hospitality." It's a broad, general statement, an I-statement, and it contains multitudes of other meanings within it, like "so don't push your luck", "back off" and "don't be a creep", all without having to say it that bluntly. Anyone working in a public-facing job can say this sentence and not get into trouble with management (EYE ROLL) or customers.

She should have also called the police to report this especially since a coworker can verify it. If you're a s*x offender and move to another state you have to register in that state also. About 15 years ago my friends son bought a PC from somebody at a flea market that had PC stuff all the time. Welllll guess what, it had kiddie p**n on it. Cops show up at their house and arrest him. It was proven by the SBI that it was on there BEFORE he bought it. Even though they proved he didn't send any of that c**p there was something in the PC that automatically sent it. He still had to register as a s*x offender and had to register in FL when he moved there 5 it 6 yrs ago. He couldn't even be alone with his own kid until the 18th birthday.

They can't do that if it's proven that the cp was already on there when he bought it. They can only go after the original owner for distribution of cp. So if that is indeed true your friend needs a lawyer.

My ex (from several years back) and I worked together. One day she went out to lunch and on her way back, a guy stopped and demanded her number because she had a "perfect body". She said she had a boyfriend and wasn't interesting regardless but the guy refused to take no for an answer. He was literally following her and harassing her for her number so she called me. I was going to head out to meet her but she was super smart and went to our old office building that had a security check in at the front instead of leading him back to where we actually worked. She ended up being okay but it really opened my eyes about how wary and aware women have to be. I always knew women had to be careful but this being so close really hit me.

In situations like this, you NEED to call the police - guys like that won't stop because they get rejected, they just escalate their behaviour. It needs to be reported so there's a trail (and other hotels should be notified).
