Sometimes I’ll see a person and just know they’ll be beautiful to photograph. Such was the case when I saw a photo of Anna Beason on Facebook and stopped my scroll.

I messaged her and asked if she had ever done any modeling before and she said no but she would give it a shot. I explained my vision to her as best as I could, got some basic sizing info from her, and knew the perfect location.

We live in a very rural and impoverished area in South Carolina and beautiful locations can be scarce. little gems like the one in the photo here are a rarity.

Anna later told me that she was glad that it took about a month for the dress to come in because she was so nervous about doing the shoot she had to hype herself up for that long just to feel comfortable to do it.

Shoot day came and it was magical. It was the first time ever meeting Anna and I had only told her a day or two before that there would be horses on location. To my astonishment, she wasn’t worried about the horses at all- she was delighted!

Anna is an avid horse rider, little did I know! How amazing that the stars aligned just right in that way!

Her connection with the horses was beautiful and she truly looked like she belonged there with them.

This image is a complication of 9 images to create the panoramic view, but the horses were lined up in that way naturally without coaxing from her or anyone else.

What story does this scene tell to you?
