After First Date Girl Asks Guy If They Could Just Be Friends, Guy’s Response Takes Her By Surprise
Nobody likes being rejected, but some people deal with it worse than others. In fact, some people can’t even cope with being rejected by somebody they aren’t even interested in! That’s what happened recently after a guy and a girl had a date together. The girl texted the guy (a Redditor named ToastedCookieOats) the following day to tell him that she “didn’t see him as a romantic partner” but hoped that they could remain friends. The guy politely revealed that the feeling was mutual and…well…things escalated pretty quickly from there. Check out the full hilarious conversation below.

Better this happened after THE FIRST DATE versus dating for a while and then finding out what an absolute a*****e the other person is. Electronic communication is so cold ... people feel they can say anything to someone over a text or email and then in person are more diplomatic choosing their words carefully.

I did some online dating about 8 years ago and most of the people were really nice, but everyone is so vulnerable when dating and a few people had very odd and unpleasant reactions to any hint of rejection. Even when it was said nicely and without anything insulting. It looks like that is what happened here. He handled it quite well and she was really inappropriate and defensive. It's probably because she doesn't feel good about herself or confident about dating. I wish them both well.
