Carlota, the government can do so much now. Let this tragedy be a lesson for all of us. Only public - consumers can stop the next emergence of deadly bacteria and viruses!! Do you understand it? Get facts from epidemiologists, the environmental and animal protection organizations, not from those verminous individuals and corporations which are responsible for destruction of our planet, immense suffering of animals ....and consequently for our health. All of these three matters are tightly entangled. And not from the governments that protect those destructive industries; vote for politicians which will work to protect people.

She didn't have to do this, there were more than enough ventilators available (there still are to this day). She just didn't want extraordinary measures taken to prolong her life any further. Her choice, government had nothing to do with it.

elfin, in Az a lot of our "immigrants" are gang members, drug dealers and all around bad people. I have no problem with immigrants who come to the US the legal way, I do however have a problem with the people who sneak across the borders.

I know it's cool to play the contrarian and all, but know quite well what generalization means... it is a broad statement or an idea that is applied to a group of people or things. And it applies perfectly in this scenario. So yes you're right you do need help @ Kaisu,, and Phillip...maybe get off imaginary pedestal.

I see your point but you can’t generalize USers. One of my close friends is an immigrant while I am fifth generation US citizen, born and raised in New York. I obviously won’t give names but she is one of the kindest and most helpful person I have ever met and the thought that anyone would stereotype her or discriminate against her breaks my heart.

The US has always been around 14% foreign born. The 14% are also “US’ers”. Don’t forget it.

A lot of banks all over the world adjusted their mortgage repayment requirements in line with the Coronavirus outbreak, in order to accommodate homeowners and investors who may struggle paying their mortgage for a period of time. So if banks can help, why not landlords who have this option to do so?

My parents are very stressed in this time. They have paid everything off, but there are still bills. They are willing to give discounts to those who have lost their job, but there is only so much they can afford to do.

Many landlords need the rent money to pay mortgages on the properties. If they can't pay, the banks will foreclose and kick the tenants out anyway. It's the epitome of selfishness to expect landlords to sacrifice their properties to give you a few months of free rent.

This is happening to my mother too. It makes me so frustrated. Mortgages can be put on hold for 6 months here, yet they still want to increase rent at this time. She also received a letter to say only life threatening maintenance emergencies would be repaired...which I'm pretty sure isn't legal.

They sure do and there are A LOT of greedy a******s who are only concern about getting as much paper towels, toilet paper, cases of water and cleaning products. A woman SPIT in my f*****g face today at Walmart (I'm a cashier) because she didn't get what she wanted. Prior to that, I had 2 ppl lose their s**t before 8:30 AM so yes, people's true colors are really shining.
