The population problem and women not having kids is not only caused by the long work hours. There are equal rights under law and the Japanese government has implemented many benefits to having children to tackle this problem. Furthermore, a lot of the choice of women not having children is caused by the comfort of living at home. Japanese people tend to live at home with parents until marriage unless their hometown is far away. This means that there is less of a push towards independence. There are many sides and reasons towards different societal problems that should not be assumed based on one bored panda posting of pictures.

Tiredness is only one of the reasons that people commit suicide in Japan. The main cause stems from the Japanese culture of not bothering people about their problems. In the west we are encouraged and seek counceling and therapy.

As a Japanese person I would like to comment and make sure people understand that this does not describe all of Japanese working conditions. In fact, many women in Japan do marry "good" men because some women enjoy being housewives. Growing up I visited many friends houses with a working father and housewife household and it was always a good atmosphere. The wife respects the husband in the sense that he is the only person who obtains money, and in turn the husband respects that the wife manages everything in the household besides money (taking care of children, finances, groceries, cooking, cleaning) I think that in the end the workload is equal between husband and wife. There are also stay at home dads in some cases so it's not that women are forced into this sort of arrangement like what some people are assuming. In addition, I think that all societies have the good and bad. Does the U.S. really promote productivity and family when the divorce rate is close to 50 percent?

Im sorry but this amateur vs professional thing is rediculous. The "amateur" photo has no sense of trying to take a good or meaningful picture. They are just taking a picture as it is. The "professional" uses light, perspective, people, and effects. I honestly feel like some amateurs would feel offended seeing as some amateurs are into photography and would at least aspire to take "pro" like pictures (include people, meaning, photo editing, lighting, etc.) maybe the name should be changed to "how photographers can change views of the world".

I think it looks weird too, but if you stop to think about where anything we percieve as pretty or a conventional tradition comes from, feather eyebrows couldve been adopted as the "prettiest"- most "accepted" way to do your brows. It all depends on circumstance and our want to fit in socially. Why do we wear jewelry, clothes, or make any sort of fashion choice to begin with? I know this is a controversial topic and people are gonna hate me for this but the truth is that a baby comes out of a woman unless you count the rare instances when a male has been able to give birth. In an ideal world men should also be 100 percent responsible for a baby which has part of their DNA. However, as a woman myself I believe strongly that women have to be ultimately responsible for a child because we are the ones giving birth and we can decide under what context to have sex protected or unprotected and whether or not to have an abortion, raise the child, or find parents who can adopt the baby. I think the fact that we can give birth is a huge opportunity, as only females can give birth but I also think it bears a huge responsibility towards the child.

I can understand that good photography can be captured with limited equipment. What's weird to me is to compare the "ordinary" person having bad equipment and a professional photographer using top notch equipment. They should give the pro photographer a disadvantage if anything since it's their profession not the other way around. Also, I feel that this article is implying that a professional can magically produce people, children, and flowers out of thin air that somehow doesn't exist in the "ordinary" photos. I really don't think "ordinary" people would purposefully take blurry photos of subjects with no meaning as shown in this article. Why would an "ordinary" person take a blurry photo of a tree stump next to a parking lot, instead of a more engaging and meaningful subject? I think most people's phone picture albums have selfies, friends, flowers, animals, and anything else meaningful enough for them to take a picture of to remember.

You said before that even with the same camera a non photographer would not be able to create anywhere near as artful a picture as someone else. However now you're saying photography is partially science too. I think you're misunderstanding what I mean. Photography is an art form, and there are many aspects that the photographer adjusts in order for a picture to instill emotion and feeling. Without instilling emotions and feelings to the viewer I'm not sure if you can call it art, but that's a philosophical question that doesn't have to do with this. The thing that I don't understand with this particular article is that the "ordinary" person is misrepresented. Even us, "ordinary" people take pictures that "try" to look nice. Even ordinary people take photos that mean something, their pets, pretty scenery, delicious food they ate, or their relatives and family. I don't see "ordinary" people taking pictures arbitrarily of a tree stump or the side of a building. Some of these photos are even blurry like they are purposely not trying to take a decent picture. BTW cooking is a science, especially with foods that you cook in the oven. Follow exact temp, time, and method and result is consistent.
